As far back as 1973, Rhodes Park Nursery was bought by a young Zambian Lawyer, Primary classes were introduced with a small Grade One class in January 1980. The primary section rapidly grew to overtake the nursery school and by 1986, construction had started on a class block at the Sibweni Road Campus in Northmead. Secondary classes soon followed and Rhodes Park is now one of the longest established private schools in the country and has a pupil population of approx 1,500, with over 80 teachers and 51 classes and a distinguished reputation for excellent teaching all the subjects we offer. The school reopened its doors to secondary education in 1997 and has never looked back since then. We had our first two Grade Twelve classes in 2001. They did very well in their final examinations and helped to set pace for the wonderful and improved achievements of the classes that followed in subsequent years. It is a well known fact that Rhodes Park has achieved excellent Grade Seven and Nine and Twelve results. Being a limited company, the School is run on behalf of the shareholders by The Board of Directors, with the Chairman and Managing Director as Chief Executive Officer in charge day to day running and strategic management. He is assisted by the Headteacher, Chief Accountant and Administrative Manager. The School operates under a licence from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Zambia under the Education Act. The future as Rhodes Park approaches 2010 looks promising indeed. With new methodologies, new facilities and an ever improving outlook, things can only get better. |
