Early Learning Centre 

The Perfect Start—Reception 1-4

The Early Learning Centre comprises Crèche and Reception classes. Housed on the southern edge of our campus, the center provides a nurturing environment where young learners begin their educational journey. Many of our pupils are first-time entrants to school, and we focus on building strong foundations through supportive relationships, meaningful experiences, and a stimulating environment.

Core Areas of Learning

Our program is guided by seven broad areas of development, with three major areas forming the foundation for early growth:

• Communication and Language – Developing speaking, listening, attention, and understanding skills.
• Physical Development—Promoting gross and fine motor skills through outdoor play, manipulative toys, structured PE lessons, and dance.
• Personal, Social, and Emotional Development – Fostering Social Emotional Learning (SEL), including self-regulation, independence, and building positive relationships with peers and adults.

These areas ignite children’s curiosity, foster a love of learning, and help them flourish socially and emotionally.

Supporting and Enriching Learning

To complement these foundations, we enrich learning through four additional areas:

• Literacy—An embedded reading culture supported by library facilities helps children develop comprehension, letter and sound recognition, word blending, and early writing skills.
• Mathematics – Building number recognition, writing skills, and understanding numerical patterns.
• Understanding the World—Exploring local culture, communities, and history through stories and picture books, while learning about the environment and its relationship to people.
• Expressive Arts and Design—Encouraging creativity and imagination through drawing, poems, rhymes, storytelling, music, and hands‑on exploration with materials.

Bearing in mind the age of nursery learners, we provide many opportunities for learning through play. The school has a wide range of facilities, provided inside and outside the classroom, with featured singing, storytelling, games, and other traditional kindergarten activities.

After completing either of the two pathways offered, learners proceed to Lower Primary with a solid head start and can read, express themselves confidently, and work independently.
